Would you like to sing with us?
The Bachchor Heidelberg regularly accepts new members: especially experienced tenors and basses, but also excellent sopranos and altos.
Good, committed singers with a fundamental knowledge of music (confident intonation plus the ability to read music and practice the more difficult passages independently) and who enjoy demanding choral work are cordially invited to try us out.
Just come by and see if we’re a good fit for you – and vice versa. After a few rehearsals, you can audition to become a member. We rehearse on Thursday evenings starting at 19:40 (tutti), usually in the parish hall of the Johanneskirche in Neuenheim. Exceptions may apply, so always double-check the time and place in the rehearsal schedule.

And what can we offer you?
- An attractive concert program with at least four major choral works per year, which we perform together with the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists from the Opera; past performances have featured works such as R. V. Williams’ Sea Symphony, Bach’s Mass in B minor or Les Béatitudes by César Franck.
- Regular cooperation with renowned guest conductors such as Wolfgang Katschner, Ira Hochmann, Franziska Kuba and Jörg Halubek
- Professional voice training: every tutti rehearsal starts with choral voice training and warm-up
- Dynamic choral life: concert tours (e.g. most recently to Montpellier and Salzburg), interesting special projects and, of course, post-concert and seasonal social activities
- Free membership in our association
